Your Park

Enjoy a rolling tour through the "Jewel of San Diego". Follow the development of the park from it's inception in 1868 when it was little more than 1,440 acres of chaparral and learn how it has developed into a “one-of-a-kind” urban park providing a spectacular blend of cultural treasures, performing arts venues, fitness facilities and beautiful gardens.

Host to two International Expositions (1915 and 1935), Balboa Park has a rich background; learn about the individuals who made it possible; the military’s “occupation” during the war years and the current efforts to preserve the magic of the park.

Your Tour

Typical tours take approximately 45 minutes to an hour and cover the Central Mesa from the San Diego Zoo to the Aerospace Museum (and all points in between.)

Your Guide

I have been conducting pedicab tours of Balboa Park for more than 5 years, during that time I have become a student of the Park and have learned a great deal of it's history and what makes it special. As a former educator, I enjoy sharing knowledge and strive to do so in an engaging and personable manner.
